We are working with ALSHRM on their program to Improve Literacy in Alabama.

We will be having a book drive starting February 15, 2016 until May 11, 2016. We are going to take donations for books on a K-3rd grade reading level. I have contacted the Board of Education and also several other organizations here in Cullman to talk to them about donating the books to their kids.

We are wanting to collect 200 books as a chapter. ALSHRM is only asking for 100 but I think our chapter can double that and show everyone that this is very important to us and we care.

We will be picking the books up at meetings or I can come by and pick them up from your office if you can’t get out. If you don’t have children books you can bring us other books and we can take them and swap them for the children books.

We will be giving away a prize to the person who donates the most books and then anyone that brings 5 or more books will get put into a drawing to win a prize.
