    Thank you for your interest in membership in the Cullman Area Chapter Society for Human Resource Management (CSHRM).  In keeping with the Chapter’s Mission and Objectives, CSHRM membership is available to persons who demonstrate a bona fide interest in the field of Human Resource Management and meet the Chapter’s criteria of a Human Resource professional.

    CSHRM seeks to promote professionalism in the field of the Human Resource Management by offering members a wide variety of professional development opportunities and a common forum in which to share ideas and experiences.  CSHRM seeks to create an environment, which promotes service, accountability, involvement, diversity and professionalism.

    Membership is determined by a set of defined criteria outlined in the Constitution and Bylaws of our Chapter. All memberships must be approved by our Board of Directors.

    There are four levels of membership;

    Professional Members.  Professional members defined as those individuals actively engaged in bona fide human resources administration (at the exempt level) for at least three years and who devote at least 50% of their time to personnel, human resources or industrial relations functions exclusively for the employees of their employer.

    General Members.  General members are defined as non-exempt individuals who devote at least 50% of their time to human resources related functions.  General members may receive recommendation for membership by an active SHRM member. 

    Associate Members.  Associate members are individuals who do not meet the qualifications of the other classes of membership, but who demonstrate a bona fide interest in human resource management and the mission of the Chapter.  Associate members may not vote or hold an office in the chapter.

    Student Members.  Student members are individuals pursuing a course of learning which will lead to employment in the human resources field or closely related profession.  Student members may not vote or hold an office in the chapter.

     

    CSHRM membership is valid for a 12 month period on a calendar year basis.

     

    Annual Fees for CSHRM membership are as follows:

    National SHRM Member - $75.00 a year

    Non-National SHRM Members - $90.00 a year

    Membership Year: January 1st - December 31st

    Membership dues may be prorated for the fourth quarter.

    Dues are determined annually by the Board of Directors prior to the mailing or posting of renewal notification.

     

    Membership Benefits

    • Monthly educational workshops on HR related topics such as employee relations, laws, regulations, benefits, safety, training, etc.
    • Gain access to important resources that can help your organization make critical decisions.
    • Opportunity to develop leadership skills by taking on a volunteer leadership role. Recognition as a leader who has commitment to the HR profession and is willing to give back to help others in the profession.
    • A forum for the personal and professional development of its members
    • Earn professional recognition in the HR field as a local SHRM affiliated chapter member.
    • Volunteer opportunities are available for all chapter members and provide an excellent way to build knowledge and contribute toward the strength of the chapter.

     

    You could earn credits toward the PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP                re-certification by:

    • Attending monthly educational workshops
    • Volunteering for a leadership role
